This checklist provides teacher assessment criteria for classroom/teacher observations. The criteria include good teaching practices that should be demonstrated during each lesson. The observer can quickly check whether the teacher fully, partially, or did not demonstrate each practice. The form also includes space where the observer can give specific feedback to the teacher. This tool should be used by Save the Children staff members, including program managers and monitoring and evaluation teams, when conducing classroom/teacher observations. The head teacher should always be present during the observation and his/her comments noted on the form. After discussing the observation and feedback, the observed teacher, head teacher, and observer should sign off on the complete checklist.
