This report presents the results of the midline Early Grade Reading Assessment (EGRA) administered in November 2018 in Egypt as part of the Literate Village (LV) Project. In collaboration with the Community Education Sector at the Ministry of Education, the LV Project carried out an Early Grade Reading Assessment (EGRA) in community schools in Sohag, Beheira and Assiut governorates. The EGRA helps identify how well children in the early grades of primary school are acquiring reading skills, to identify any gaps in their skills, and ultimately to focus on improving performance in these core areas.
