The ‘EiE Cross-Cutting Issues Checklist’ is a simple tool to guide project staff and stimulate dialogue toward ensuring that the cross-cutting issues of gender, disability, learning needs, conflict sensitivity and child protection are considered in all aspects of the planning and development of EiE programming. The checklist, while not exhaustive, refers to the minimum standards for addressing each of these sensitive issues and a starting point which could then be built upon using more comprehensive resources listed below. Education Specialists & Program Managers should find this checklist useful as they map out plans for assessments, program development and, as appropriate, communicating about the nature and content of education in emergencies programming. Should be used in conjunction with the Conflict-Sensitive Education Pack, SNAP (Special Needs Action Pack), Gender in Emergencies guide and the Child Protection in Emergencies Minimum Standards (CPiE MS).
