Conflict in Afghanistan continues to have harsh consequences for children, who account for a quarter of all civilian casualties, are recruited and used by parties to the conflict, or suffer abduction by parties to the armed conflict.

This report, published by UNICEF and others, documents how violence, threats and intimidation carried out by parties to the conflict have directly harmed or impacted health and education personnel, reduced availability to healthcare, and limited children’s access to essential health and education services.

The report concludes with recommendations for all parties to the conflict, the anti-government elements, the government of Afghanistan, and the international community.
