Educare al Digitale: Dati utili per adulti consapevoli (2025)

Negli ultimi anni siamo entrati nel cuore della rivoluzione digitale, osservata dal punto di vista dei bambini e attraverso la lente dei diritti dell’infanzia e dell’adolescenza, grazie a programmi dedicati e a un’attenta analisi. Le basi di questo impegno risiedono nel riconoscere l’importanza di saper valutare i rischi specifici legati al contatto precoce e quotidiano con i dispositivi digitali e con l’universo digitale, così come nel riconoscere che le opportunità che si aprono nella vita di bambini e adolescenti sono significative e aumentano con l’età, dall’infanzia all’adolescenza.

Tra queste vi sono opportunità di apprendimento e di sviluppo di conoscenze ampie e di competenze trasferibili e più eque; opportunità per la salute e la cura per tutti; e opportunità di partecipazione ed educazione per i bambini con disabilità e per quelli che vivono in contesti più isolati o complessi. L’accesso sempre più diffuso a connessioni internet veloci e a basso costo, insieme alla capillare diffusione degli smartphone, ha da un lato aumentato i rischi per bambini e adolescenti, spesso sovraesposti, ma dall’altro sta ampliando la gamma di opportunità a disposizione di molti di loro.

In recent years, we have entered the heart of the digital revolution, observed from a child’s perspective and through the lens of children’s and adolescents’ rights, with dedicated programs and careful analysis. The foundations of this commitment lie in recognizing the importance of being able to assess the specific risks linked to early and daily contact with digital devices and the digital universe, as well as in acknowledging that the opportunities opening up in the lives of children and adolescents are substantial and increase with age, from childhood to adolescence.

Among these, there are opportunities for learning and for the development of broad knowledge and transferable, more equitable skills; opportunities for health and care for everyone; and opportunities for participation and education for children with disabilities and for children living in more isolated or challenging contexts. The increasingly widespread access to fast, low-cost internet connections, together with the pervasive spread of smartphones, has on the one hand increased the risks for children and adolescents, who are often overexposed, but on the other hand is expanding the range of opportunities available to many of them.
