This literature review synthesizes findings from 51 studies evaluating the effectiveness of cash transfers in improving children’s wellbeing, focusing on their education and cognitive development, health and nutrition, and the likelihood of engaging in child labour.
Challenges are identified in applying evidence to design effective cash transfer programmes and suggestions are made on how to overcome these challenges to ensure that cash transfers lead to improvements in the wellbeing of the poorest and most vulnerable children.
