Disaster Risk Reduction in the Education Sector: Tajikistan & Kyrgyzstan

At the district and regional levels in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, Save the Children targeted institutions for children with disabilities and improved their resilience and disaster preparedness through the introduction of training for staff and care-givers, development of disaster preparedness plans, supporting small scale mitigation activities and connecting them to relevant disaster management centres. Save the Children is the first to cover these institutions, particularly in disaster risk reduction (DRR).
