Disaster Risk Reduction in the Education Sector: Philippines

Save the Children has led participatory workshops with both teachers and students for development of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) education materials, and has trained the Department of Education (teachers and non-teaching staff) in child-centred DRR. Many schools are now able to conduct participatory campus and classroom risk assessments, formulate a child-centred school disaster management and contingency plan, and organise disaster response teams.

This poster provides a brief description of Save the Children’s programmes on Disaster Risk Reduction in the education sector in Philippines.
