Disaster Risk Reduction in the Education Sector: Pakistan

An integral part of Save the Children’s work in Pakistan is establishing strong partnership and relationships in order to be able to successful advocate, develop and support Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Disaster Risk Management (DRM) initiatives, forums and projects in Pakistan. Since 2010, DRR projects have supported communities and District Disaster Management Authorities in high-risk areas by developing and conducting hazard, vulnerability and capacity assessments (HVCAs) at the school, community and local levels. School- based children’s clubs have been instrumental in developing awareness, advocating and achieving results.

This poster provides a brief description of Save the Children’s programmes on Disaster Risk Reduction in the education sector in Pakistan.
