Disaster Risk Reduction in the Education Sector: Japan

The Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami provided important lessons on what needs to be done to reduce disaster risks. Founded on information collected in interviews conducted by Save the Children staff after the disaster, a supplementary textbook on disaster risk reduction, and a card game were developed in collaboration with an NGO, Plus-Arts.

This poster provides a brief description of Save the Children’s programmes on Disaster Risk Reduction in the education sector in Japan.
