Despite the prevalence and devastating impact of droughts and flooding on human health, particularly malnutrition, in Somalia, there is a paucity of evidence and documentation on the specific pathways through which climate change affects human health and nutrition.

Therefore, we have used a system thinking (ST) approach and developed a causal loop diagram (CLD) to better understand and unpack these pathways.

CLD is a graphical representation that shows the interconnectedness of various variables and their causal relationships, enabling us to identify both internal and external dynamics that influence health and malnutrition in the context of climate change
