A framework for Plan’s support of the rights of children living in a world with HIV, covering the period 2006-2011. The aim of Plan’s response to HIV is to contribute to more effective policies and actions to promote, fulfil and protect the rights of children living in a world with HIV. The four strategic areas of Plan’s response to HIV address: (1) the rights of children to protection from HIV; (2) the rights of children to live with their family; (3) the rights of families affected by HIV to social protection and (4)
the rights of children affected by HIV to care and support. These four areas outline a strategic response that is centred on children rather than on the virus or on the epidemic.
