All children are vulnerable to violence, abuse, and neglect. Such violations against children’s rights can take place in the home, under the care of parents and other family members. During the COVID-19 pandemic, it is likely that the vulnerabilities of children who are trapped in abusive and neglectful situations will increase.

This technical note examines issues that children may face as countries implement lockdowns and curfews in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19. It also includes prevention and response strategies aiming to strengthen the protection of children in all types of homes.
