This material outlines USAID’s Agency for All Project’s efforts to understand and address COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy in Nigeria. The project conducted a scoping review, secondary data analysis, and primary research to identify determinants of vaccine hesitancy and effective communication strategies. Key findings indicate that complacency towards COVID-19, locally relevant messaging, and interpersonal communication are significant factors influencing vaccine acceptance. Public health nurses and credible organizations were identified as effective messengers. The project emphasizes the need for tailored risk communication and community engagement campaigns to reduce vaccine hesitancy and build trust in vaccination efforts.
