The quality of education has worsened since the beginning of the civil war in Côte d’Ivoire in 2002. The retention rate is 52 percent and absenteeism of children can be quite high. Children have few opportunities to participate in school decisions. Save the Childen is seeking public support to increase the number of children – especially girls and those affected by conflict – who can go to school and complete a good quality education. Save the Children’s Rewrite the Future overall project goal is to secure good quality education for all, and to give every child the opportunity to attend school in a safe, participatory environment
