Children and adolescents are people with rights and responsibilities and must be respected as such. The Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) is an international treaty approved by the United Nations on 20 November 1989 and ratified by Peru on 4 September 1990. It is the most widely ratified treaty in the world. This treaty (law) points out all the rights that correspond to children and adolescents and establishes the obligations of governments to guarantee, respect, and protect these rights.
