Save the Children International (SCI) Pakistan implemented the project “Context-sensitive early recovery support to the affected communities” in response to the 2022 flood crisis. The project focused on Dadu district in Sindh addressing the needs of about 849,380 people across 172,790 households, where 167,009 houses were damaged, and local agriculture and livestock suffered extensive losses. Although many aid actors were present, the humanitarian response was incomplete, covering only 24 out of 43 flood-affected union councils (UCs). SCI Pakistan focused on Union Councils Burira and Sindhi Butra, where there were significant needs and gaps in coverage. The project, carried out with local organization National Rural Support Program (NRSP) and key government departments, provided essential support in housing, WASH, Food Security and Livelihood (FSL), and protection.
The findings from the endline evaluation showed a significant improvement in the targeted communities in term of food security, WASH, shelter and protection. Thre inter-connected outcome level indicators were assessed in the endline evaluation comparable with the baseline findings.
