A publication produced by Save the Children on the challenges facing Peruvian early childhood education for children in the age group of 0-6 years. It pays special attention to the levels of malnutrition and lack of day care facilities for children below three years of age, with emphasis on indigenous children and children living in rural and remote areas.
The report examines the legal framework and standards across early childhood education in Peru and makes a number of recommendations for actions to the government and policy makers to help improve the quality of infant care and education and ensure that the day care needs and rights of children 0-6 years, as enshrined in the Convention on the Rights of the Child, are met.
