Combining Treatment of Acute Malnutrition with Integrated Community Case Management – A Brief (Somali, 2025)

In 2022-24, Save the Children, in collaboration with the Somali Ministry of Health and University College London, set up a programme and a study to test whether integrating malnutrition treatment into the existing iCCM platform—creating an enhanced model called iCCM+—could improve access and coverage outcomes compared to standard iCCM, in which FHWs diagnose children with SAM and MAM and refer them to health facilities. The study findings are being published in different fora, and this brief gives a succint overview of some of the main findings.
