In the diverse contexts where Save the Children (SC) and World Vision (WV) work, the people who are charged with supporting teachers in the classroom are often themselves poorly equipped to do so and, perhaps relatedly, largely absent from this role. A coaching component to support the Literacy Boost (LB) teacher training program is a step towards addressing this gap by building the capacity of school administrators and government officials to provide in-class mentoring and guidance on literacy instruction to teachers.
