A briefing paper concerning the positive impact of children’s participation in the Mekong Youth Forum (MYF) and the Coordinated Mekong Ministerial Initiative Against Trafficking (COMMIT). It highlights three MYF meetings on human trafficking that took place in 2004, 2007 and 2010, and brought together child leaders from around the region to discuss with government policy makers about specific trafficking and migration issues. These regional meetings have demonstrated the value of regular consultations with children and young people to help shape policies and programmes to prevent and combat human trafficking.
