Save the Children Zambia
This is a cross-sectional baseline study conducted in Zambia in December 2022 with a participatory approach using quantitative and qualitative methods. A three-stage stratified cluster design was applied to select a sample of 182 households and 182 adolescents for the survey. This baseline study has also used the Rubrics methodology.
The findings of the study revealed that 77% of adolescents agree that a teenage pregnancy brings shame to the parents in the family and community; on the other hand, nearly half of parents (families) do not agree that teenage mothers have the power to access opportunities. Furthermore, 63% of adolescents do not know where they can get SRHR information and services, and only 8% are comfortable discussing contraception methods.
