Save the Children Norway

In September 2012 seven youth aged 15-17 years from four countries; Nepal, Uganda, Guatemala and Albania, travelled to New York to advocate for children and youth to participate in peace processes and peace building. The purpose was to raise awareness among UN member states, UN institutions and Non-governmental organizations on children and youth roles and contributions to peace processes and peace building and to start discussing the steps for a UN resolution on children, youth and peace building. Based on the footage of the side event made by International Peace Institute, Save the Children created a brief video with the young people’s key messages as well as a full recording of the event. These messages were inspiring and thought provoking for the attendants. Watch these movies, listen to the children and youth and be inspired by their messages.
