CORE, Centre for Organisation Research & Education

The Centre for Organisation Research & Education (CORE), Manipur, India, is a representative indigenous peoples’ organisation based in Manipur, India. The organisation has been working in grassroots support and advocacy for the rights of the indigenous and tribal peoples and their organisations in the North East region of India. This independent report on India and the Convention on the Rights of the Child by CORE was submitted to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child as part of India’s monitoring and reporting process. It documents human rights abuses against indigenous children, particularly in the north-east region. There is a particular focus on the effects of armed conflict and militarization.
