Children with disabilities (CWD) have the right to participation, non-discrimination, survival, development and protection. The rights of the CWD need to be fulfilled and achieved as stated in the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child (ACRWC). Governments are the primary duty bearers to ensure that the rights of CWD are fulfilled. Save the Children Sweden’s partners in the form of national and regional NGOs and networks as well as child led organizations need to build their capacity on the CRPD as well as mobilize other CSOs around the CRPD.
