Save the Children
A short report on the invaluable insights and perspectives shared by refugee children ahead of the forthcoming Global Refugee Forum 2023. The consultations, organized by Save the Children in coordination with the Initiative for Child Rights in the Global Compacts, offered a platform for 288 refugee children aged 8 to 18 across seven refugee-hosting countries in Africa, Latin America, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East to articulate their experiences, challenges, and aspirations.
Children constitute 40% of the global refugee population, yet their voices often go unheard in decision-making processes that significantly impact their lives. With this in mind, Save the Children coordinated these consultations to ensure that the views of refugee children are at the forefront of discussions and decisions at the Global Refugee Forum.
The consultations revealed impressive messages and highlighted the urgent need to center discussions on protecting the rights and improving the circumstances of refugee children.
