Children and economic growth – Policy Briefing

Economic growth is a priority for low-income countries. But without a more nuanced discussion about the relationship between economic growth and poverty reduction, children won’t fully gain from the benefits of growth.Too often growth and social policies are pursued as separate strategies. Instead, what is needed is overall development strategies that recognise the importance of growth, equity and poverty reduction.
