An assessment of the range of EU legislation and initiatives that addresses child sexual exploitation in Europe. The report shows that the general response on the issue of child sexual exploitation has been uniform, and it presents the actions taken by the different European governments, based on differing economic, social and cultural factors. But in practice, even though laws have been passed to tackle child sexual exploitation in several states, these have not been enforced rigorously enough to have a real impact on the protection of children.
