Save the Children
Save the Children (SC) has a strong track record in fighting for children’s rights to become children’s realities. SC believes that an empowered civil society is a key indicator of the sort of open, inclusive and accountable governance, which is necessary for the realisation of children’s rights. One of Save the Children’s main roles is to support and strengthen local civil society actors in their quest to hold governments accountable for children’s rights and to contribute towards a child rights-based society.
This guide is written in response to the increasing number of restrictions being imposed on civil society – particularly for those working on issues of rights and governance. Save the Children is committed to safeguarding the space that exists for civil society actors and to dedicating resources towards the further expansion of civil society space.
