An optional professional mentoring component was built into the Child Protection in Emergencies Professional Development Programme (CPiE PDP) and was designed to offer mentoring relationship to participants (mentees) and mentors for 6 months of the programme. A pool of 15 CPiE experts including some graduates of the programme as peer mentors were all assigned a mentee from the programme to help mentees develop a greater knowledge base and deeper self-awareness. All the participants engaged in the mentoring scheme. At the end of the programme, a survey was sent out with a 100% response rate out of the 16 graduates taking part in the mentoring process. The report also includes responses from 5 mentors.
