Save the Children Zambia

An innovative initiative was undertaken to conduct a child-led survey on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This groundbreaking project sought to empower children as active participants, researchers, and advocates for change. Through prioritizing children’s voices and perspectives, the survey sought to uncover valuable insights into their perceptions, priorities, and aspirations concerning the SDGs. By placing children at the forefront of data collection and analysis, the survey aimed to provide a unique and comprehensive understanding of their perspectives, allowing for more informed decision-making and targeted interventions. The target population consisted of children between the ages of 10 and 17 years old, including both in-school and out-of-school children from 13 districts across 9 provinces in Zambia.

Objectives:
The main objective of the research was to explore and present the findings of the child-led perspectives on sustainable development Goals in Zambia.

Specific Objectives

1.To explore the awareness, understanding, and engagement of children in relation to the global goals.

2. To engage children as survey designers, interviewers, and respondents for amplifying their voices and enable them to contribute meaningfully to the sustainable development agenda.
