Cash for Nutrition in Gaza – Technical Note

This technical note outlines a practical approach to operationalizing an integrated Cash for Nutrition model in Gaza, combining Multipurpose Cash Assistance (MPCA) with targeted nutrition cash top-ups to support both the prevention and treatment of acute malnutrition. It aligns with Nutrition Cluster and Cash Working Group priorities under the 2026 Flash Appeal, promoting harmonized targeting, interoperability, and a complementary package of support for vulnerable populations. Building on existing analysis and tools, the note identifies three priority approaches – two of which (cash for treatment and cash for prevention) are further developed – reflecting the complex drivers of malnutrition, contextual constraints, and the need for scalable, coordinated responses within existing cash and food security systems.
