A Lebanese case study which stresses the importance of involving children in the programmes created for them and providing them with a platform from which to express themselves. In an effort to empower children and decrease the tolerance of violence against them both inside the home and outside it, Save the Children has been facilitating social action initiatives. One such initiative involves writing scripts and performing plays which aim to raise awareness on children’s rights, the prevalence of violence against children and its impact on healthy development. Seventeen year old Iman, involved in the production and presentation of plays on violence against young people in the community, is the key protagonist of this particular case study story.
