Save the Children Sweden
This case study deals with Typhoon Ketsana that hit Vietnam in September 2009 causing the worst floods on record, leaving tens of thousands of children and their families in dire need of food, water, shelter, and other essentials for their survival and immediate recovery. In response to the crisis, Save the Children delivered relief to affected communities, building their capacities to cope with the effects of the disaster and ensure the safety, security and wellbeing of children. Several projects in high-risk areas were also set up, mobilizing and training adults and young people to respond to emergency situations.
