Save the Children Sweden
A Case Study for social work education in Indonesia. Save the Children is calling for more recognition of child’s rights, better practices and care systems across Indonesia and the need to shift focus from institutions to family-based care. To this end, Save the Children has worked closely with the Ministry of Social Affairs (MOSA) of Indonesia and key social service providers to support a major shift in policy to change the way child protection is understood and services are delivered. Potential impacts of the ‘From Institutions to Families’ project include: the adoption of national standards of care for childcare institutions; the consolidation of a national database and registration system for childcare institutions; the undertaking of a major review of policies; to have child and family-centered services reflected in the Government’s midterm plans and budgets.
