Case Study. Creating alternative safe and reliable support systems for “children left behind” in Romania

A Case Study from Romania of the tragic consequences for children who have been left behind by their families while they earn a living abroad. An alternative way to tackle the situation experienced by children whose family members go abroad to earn money due to the lack of employment opportunities in the country, is Save the Children’s Programme “We grow up together” , which involves using an integrated approach to meet the needs of these children. The programme works to reduce the negative impact on children associated with parents’ economic migration. This publication documents the lessons learnt and impact  from the the Programme activities.
