Case Study. Awareness raising sessions for the heads of municipalities in South Lebanon

In keeping with its mandate to create child friendly systems that promote and protect the rights of all children, Save the Children has conducted awareness raising and capacity building workshops with heads of municpalities in South Lebanon, with focus on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, child judicial protection and related procedures, and alternative education measures to juvenile detention. These workshops help prepare those officials responsible for hosting children in conflict with the law who have been sentenced and assigned a period of community work as an alternative to detention.
