This Case Study from Nepal examines the impact of Save the Children’s pilot project ‘Allies for Change: Creating safer environment for girls, women and boys’, which addresses gender inequalities and the practical issues involved in mainstreaming boys and men in efforts towards gender equality. Save the Children recognises that to achieve gender equality, boys and men need to take on an active role as change agents, and be part of the solution from a child rights perspective. This pilot project was launched by Save the Children Sweden and Save the Children Nepal in 2008, and was implemented through the youth-led local organisation “Safer Society”.
