Save the Children Cambodia,Save the Children International
Save the Children has been operating in Cambodia since 1970 and was one of the first international organizations to support the Cambodian Government’s rebuilding efforts. Save the Children Cambodia (SC Cambodia) is a national leader in health and nutrition, child protection, child rights and governance, education, and child poverty. This influential position allows SC Cambodia to act as a key player and thought leader, identifying opportunities for synergies and cross-sectoral collaboration. Additionally, SC Cambodia works to strengthen child protection systems and programs, including quality child rights and governance.
Being committed to localization, SC Cambodia has made great efforts to promote power shifting to local actors. One specific contribution to this is the strengthening of civil society. The
Cambodia Country Office (CO) strengthens CSOs to advocate for and monitor children’s rights by enhancing their capacity, promoting collective advocacy, and supporting child rights and governance frameworks. This effort is supported by various projects, including a standalone project funded by SIDA entitled the Civil Society Strengthening Project.
