The Butterfly Effect: Spreading good practices of UPR implementation

After nine years and approximately 57,000 recommendations addressed to 193 states reviewed over two cycles of the Universal Periodic Review, the present study offers a detailed overview of how UPR stakeholders have cooperated with the mechanism and what concrete result it has yielded.

This publication extracts good practices while also noting difficulties from stakeholders’ interaction with the UPR. Furthermore, it illustrates that the UPR is an efficient tool for the amelioration of human rights on the ground.
