Save the Children
Communities in Bangladesh are increasingly exposed to predictable climate-related hazards such as cyclones, floods, and droughts, which disrupt children’s access to education, health, and protection services, while threatening their safety and livelihoods. However, access to child-friendly weather and climate information—especially in hard-to-reach areas— remains limited, reducing communities’ ability to anticipate hazards and take timely preparedness measures.
Recognizing the untapped potential of children and youth in disaster preparedness, Save the Children Bangladesh has implemented a wide range of educational and participatory approaches for young adults, children and communities across its anticipatory action projects addressing multiple hazards, positioning them as active leaders in their communities.
