The report ‘Governance fit for Children – to what extent have the general measures of implementation of the UNCR been realised in Sweden’ is part of a project covering five European countries (Italy, Lithuania, Romania, Sweden and the United Kingdom), and the EU institution. Save the Children has received financial support from the European Commission’s Fundamental Rights and Citizenship Programme to carry out the project ‘Governance fit for Children’ to assess how far the general measures of implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) have been realised at European, national and community level. The general measures of implementation in the Convention on the Rights of the Child (articles 4, 42 and 44.6) concern the structures and mechanisms which need to be in place in society if the UNCRC is to be implemented effectively.
