This report presents the theory and practice evidence of the project “Building Foundations for Child Labour Free Zones in Urban and Rural Kenya”, which was the result of a partnership between CESVI, CEFA, and ANPPCAN Kenya Chapter.
Child labour victims are the silent majority within the child protection spectrum. Few programmes in Kenya currently address their special needs, even though they number over one million. The study on which this report is based focused on establishing child-labour-free zones in both rural and urban environments, while simultaneously engaging businesses to do the same.
This report offers a summary of knowledge and practice gained from the study; it reflects on roles and responsibilities of various actors to encourage ownership, coordination, and cooperation.
