A Better Future is Possible: Promoting family life for children with disabilities in residential care

The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities as well as multiple other international standards states that children have the right to grow up in a family environment. Realizing this right for children with disabilities who are deprived of their family remains a worldwide issue. At the time of writing, no country has managed to fully respond to these needs.

This manual provides recommendations on how persons and organizations in different contexts can promote family life for children with disabilities who live in residential care.
