The ‘Real Choices, Real Lives’ study was set up in 2007 to follow 142 girls from birth until their 9th birthday in 2015. Now in its 4th year, it continues to follow 130 girls in 9 different countries across the world – Brazil, El Salvador, Dominican Republic, Benin, Togo, Uganda, Cambodia, Philippines and Vietnam. The report assesses their progress – looking at their lives and the experiences of their families and the communities they are part of – in the light of the Millennium Development Goals.
