In response to the protracted and ongoing crisis that continues to impact boys, girls, women, and men in Northeast Nigeria, and building on the premise of various studies and assessments of the aftermath, including the 2023 Humanitarian Need Overview emphasized by Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) projects report that 19 local government areas (LGAs) in Borno State would face serious and critical malnutrition. Save the Children initiated a gender-responsive nutrition (integrated with WASH) and protection project. The project aims to reduce suffering, increase and maintain human dignity, and save lives among girls, boys under five years of age, and pregnant and lactating women/girls in Jere, Konduga, and Mafa LGAs in Borno State.
This study aimed to better understand the realities on ground and establish a monitoring and evaluation benchmark for planning and measuring the progress and impact of the project.
