Barn med erfaring fra krisenter forteller

All children have the right to be protected from violence and sexual abuse. This report is based on children’s experiences and thoughts about what it is like to live in a crisis centre. Each year there are around 1,500 children in crisis centers in Norway.

Child who come to a crisis center have left home with a parent due to violence or threats about violence in close relationships. In working on the report, we spoke to 30 children from all over the country. What they have in common is that all the children have experience from a stay at a crisis centre.

At the same time as this report was made, the government is working on a draft of a new crisis center act. It is crucial that the new law contributes to strengthen the crisis center offer for children and their families.
