This edition of Save the Children Sweden’s quarterly magazine BARN focuses on the issue of child abuse in Sweden. Through interviews with adults who have experienced abuse as a child, the challenges, misconceptions, and difficulties facing children who experience abuse are revealed.
Statistics show that reported child abuse in Sweden has increased dramatically over the past 8 years. Experts argue that this might not indicate a greater amount of child abuse but rather a greater intolerance for abuse in general.
The publication continues to look at global perspectives on physical punishment of children, from the UK to Lebanon.
