An Introductory Module for Children on Disaster Risk Reduction, Climate Change and Children’s Rights (Class-V)

The module provides basic understanding of and an introduction to the concept of child rights and its relation with disaster risk reduction and climate change.

The module is designed to be taught along with the school syllabus. Each session under the module is intended to be for mot more than an hour and carried out weekly during a school year for class III, IV and V. The sessions have a sequential order with the aim of teaching concepts in layers. The importance of participation of children during the sessions is vital.

While tutorial method is used, focus is on activity based learning, given the age group and also considering the fact that the learning level of children in the same class might vary drastically.
