Education is key to unlocking a child’s potential and one of the best routes out of poverty, it is the foundation on which so much else depends: children first ‘learn to read’, then they ‘read to learn’.

A commitment to getting all children reading will provide disadvantaged children with a greater chance of breaking the cycle of poverty, and thus create a fairer Britain. This is why Save the Children has come together with other organisations to create the Read On. Get On. campaign to ensure all children leave primary school able to read well by 2025.
